About

What This Is —
And What It Isn't.

Decentralized Strength

The craft and business of coaching strength & conditioning. Methods, athlete development, career paths, and what it actually takes to go solo and independent. Built for people who think about training for a living — and people who just care about training the right way.

  • Coaching methods & philosophy
  • Athlete development & sport science
  • Career paths in independent S&C
  • For enthusiasts and serious athletes

How It Differs from a Local Gym Blog

This isn't a local "workouts and training in one city" blog. It's a national, topic-first show about the ideas behind the work — conversations with coaches, scientists, and athletes who've done it, plus honest journal entries on the coaching life.

  • Not tied to a single location
  • Topics over promotions
  • First-person, unfiltered writing
  • Guests from across the field

Host

Adam Oliver, CSCS.

Decentralized Strength

I'm a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. I've trained directly at Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning alongside coaches of professional and D1 athletes, worked as the strength & conditioning coach for the SC Stingrays pro hockey team, and coached everyone from youth athletes to older adults. I hold a BS in Physical Education & Exercise Science from Norwich University.

This podcast is me documenting my evolving coaching philosophy and fitness journey — the methods, the mistakes, and the career path of building this independent.
